When my husband Michael mentioned he was speaking at a conference in San Sebastián this past May, our daughter Rachel and I jumped at the chance to join him in Europe! We love an adventure and since Spain is close to France, we decided to continue our adventure to the Cote d’Azur, our happy place!
Rachel and I are Francophiles and we love fashion. We decided to make this trip a celebration of summer style and coastal charm, where our wardrobe choices conveyed the elegance of iconic destinations like Cannes and Cap Ferret.
Below are some of our favorite looks that are perfect fashion choices when heading to the South of France. These pieces will serve you well if you travel there or to other European summer destinations! Stay tuned for my next blog, “South of France Favorites: Stay, Shop, Beach, Eat” coming soon.

Prints (especially toile)
One of our standout choices was incorporating prints into our outfit selections. We especially love the intricate and classic toile patterns that are wildly popular in the US now too! They exude sophistication and blend perfectly with the romantic ambiance of France. Whether on dresses, skirts or blouses, toile prints added a touch of elegance to our look, making us feel like we were part of the rich French textile history.

White Sundress
White sundresses are the perfect thing to wear on warm South of France days. They are timeless, simple and capture the essence of French chic, offering both comfort and style. A pretty white dress is the perfect outfit to wear from sightseeing to lunch, and then the pool.
Short Sets
Short sets have a polished yet laid-back look, ideal for casual strolls through charming French towns. The coordinated pieces simplified our outfit planning, allowing us to maintain a cohesive and stylish appearance with minimal effort.
Slide Sandals
Comfort meets style with chunky slide sandals, a staple for our long days of walking and exploring. Their modern design added a contemporary touch to our outfits! We splurged and bought matching styles at the Hermes Boutique in Cannes (there are some pretty amazing dupes out to get the look).
Lady Bags
Structured lady bags were our sophisticated accessory of choice, elevating every outfit with their elegant design. Their timeless appeal ensured that we could use them well beyond our vacation, adding a touch of Parisian sophistication to our everyday looks. We love their elegance and versatility, and their ability to take any outfit from day to night.
Oval Sunnies
Adding a vintage vibe to our looks, oval gold rim sunglasses brought a retro flair reminiscent of classic French cinema icons. The subtle glamour of the gold rims provided a hint of luxury, perfectly balancing style and practicality with essential UV protection for our outdoor activities.
